Pu Shi (pseudonym of Qin Shuming) - is a master of innovation of traditional Chinese painting and the founder of the current 'naturalism' in Chinese painting. Born in Hejian, in the province of Hebei of China, Pu Shi earned the great drum of Xihe at the age of 13 and started his career as a performer at age 14, which allowed him to have a detailed knowledge of the culture of China.
In the works of Pu Shi, water and ink grow, integrate, penetrate and tolerate each other. The artist draws inspiration from the five Elements (wood, fire, water, metal, and Earth) and their inter-relationship, to describe the beauty that lies in nature.
